About Me

Hi! I’m Ashley.

I am an educator originally from St. Louis, Missouri, USA with over a decade of professional practice across diverse educational contexts, including in the United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, and online environments. I have experience in all levels of education from classroom instruction to teacher training to national curriculum development. My previous employers include nonprofit, government, and community-based organizations in addition to public, private, charter, bilingual, and international schools. My areas of expertise include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Adult Basic Education, Life Skills, Literature & Creative Writing, as well as Academic Reading & Writing. I earned an M.Ed. in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum (with an emphasis in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University of Missouri, Columbia in December 2021 and a B.A. in English (with an emphasis in Creative Writing) and Women & Gender Studies from Webster University in May 2014.

I am committed to critical and liberatory approaches to education that are student- and learning-centered that work to expand educational equity and increase teacher and learner well-being. I am also interested in alternative modes of learning, social responsibility, transdisciplinary education, storytelling, identity cultivation, and educational ecosystems.
